Hi people, please have infinite patience, I have just unpacked ColdFusion studio, and I am trying to test it with Microsoft Personal Web Server.

It is working - like CFOUTPUT is working - however I cannot seem to access variables - they are getting printed literally --> #myName# . The documentation told me to use this server, for want of any other.

So what am I doing wrong - otherwise seems to be functioning properly. Cool, T.I.A :-Q

Hey bangers

Is CF administrator running? Make sure you execute it. If its open right click the taskbar icon and shut down, then restart it.

Then go to the admin ( I think thats the address. Look in your Start menu for the administrator link.

Anyway, if that page comes up, you'll know you're ok. CF will tell you if there are errors reading the CFM file.

mm, Also make sure you saved your text file as .cfm .

Southern henisphere huh!
I'll give it a go - can you tell me what administrator does?
Like is it not just the server which we are communicating with? Is it the adminstrator which interprets the CF markup?

Thanks, I'll keep you informed ofg my progress! ;-)

Well there is no ADmin link in the startup group? So what's going on, and also that page cannot be found - I used the documenttation to find it, but it's not there - what now?

I am just a moron I had installed Cold Fusion Server on another drive - not on my personal server.

So I am thinking, if you want to run Cold Fusion on a website, you need to get CFServer put up there? Is that right? So is this where the price comes in is it?

Well I have it running now - thanks for your patience, no doubt I will have more questions! ;-)

Cheers, Bj.
