W2K Server, SP4. Domain Controller.
I'm trying to create a CSR to submit to an 3rd party certificate authority so I can issue a certificate.. This will be used for Secure LDAP authentication. I follow MS article 321051 which says to use:
certreq -new request.inf request.req
When I do this, I get a syntax error. It appears that -new is not a valid parameter.
If I try to just run certreq and select the request.inf file I have created, I get the error "Certificate Request Processor: No Certification Authorities Available".
Am I getting this error because I dont' have this server configured as a Certificate Authority? I'm not trying to use this domain controller as a certificate authority. In fact, I don't want it to be. I don't want to have to install Certificate Services on this controller if possible.
Any thoughts or help is appreciated.
