Hello,

I have read article Q254632 about extending the period of time that a certificate can be issued for. But when it does not appear to relate to the CA Authority itself... That is, even though I have modified the registry from 2 to 5 years and stop/start the service; when I do a renewal of the CA certificate it doesn't extend beyond two years.

At this point I'm going to presume that the article applies to certificates generated by the CA and not to the CA's own certificate.?.?

So at this point, how do we extend the time that the CA's own certificate can be renewed for? Right now having issues certificates expired so rapidly doesn't make sense in our current environment. We are not looking for super long expiration dates...but at the same time I don't want to be going back and modifying the certificates on every server/workstation in as little as a year.

Being reasonable, if we expecte a given piece of hardware to be sitting on a desk for (let's use 3 years) I would prefer that the certificate I issue it be good for at least that long...

Any ideas? and thank in advance for you help.

eric
