Hello. I'm not sure if someone may know what's wrong.

I'm using Quark 4.1 on a OS 9.0 environment. I have QuarkXpress, Pagemaker 6 and CorelDraw 8 installed on a Mac G4. The thing is I'm panamanian and we use certain characters in spanish that english doesn't use, namely accent marks over the vowels (á é í ó ú) and our beloved letter ñ.

I don't have the passport version of Quark, and since I'm fluent in english it's not a real problem to have the system and the application completely in english. However, when I'm trying to print with an Arial font (installed in the system's folder) the accent marked letters and the ñ print as a black outlined box. This doesn't happen with helvetica and many other fonts, just with arial and maybe a couple more.

Doing some testing (already tried the Xtensions and preferences tests) I noticed that CorelDraw CAN print accent marked and ñ's just fine with arial (while Pagemaker cannot). I'm using Suitcase 9 to control my fonts, since I work at a print shop and we get a lot of those. I'm forced to change the font into helvetica sometimes, though they don't look exactly the same and there's always kerning/spacing problems or overflows.

I'm figuring it's more of a fonts problem than an application one, but I was wondering if any of you had been through this (wich I find unlikely, since the majority writes in english) but maybe you'd have a clue on what's wrong.
