I have had the same problems with CentreVu Agent on XP. The software will install on XP, but it will not work correctly. According to Avaya, CentreVu Agent does not work on XP. They told me to try to use IP Agent 3.0 instead with the Callmaster VI. The Avaya documentation says IP Agent will work with a Callmaster VI on XP, but when I tried to install it, it tells you its only compatible with Windows 2000 or lower. It looks like their documentation is inaccurrate.
Our Avaya business partner is checking on this for me right now, but I have yet to get a resolution from Avaya on this. Sorry for the bad news .
I just found a solution to this problem. CentreVu Agent will run on Windows XP as long as you have Service Pack 1 installed on the computer. I just discovered this last week when we got a shipment of new computers and installed CentreVu Agent on one of them and it worked correctly. It was becasue of the updates to XP that Microsoft had done. As long as you have Service Pack 1 installed it works great.
