i recently got this cell phone that supposedly has all the latest 'bells and whistles', but the software has a few issues that i would love to improve. does anyone know where i can get information on what type of language is used for cell phones, as well as how one would go about changing it.
thanks

You'll need the sdk for it, which the manufacturer is not likely to give or sell to you (they don't want to deal with the support calls).

Not likely to give or sell you?

Sony Ericcson allows you to download their Java SDK for some of their phones. They have a whole website devoted to it:

So does Nokia (SDK is near top of page):

Just go to whichever phone manufacturer you have. I would assume that ALMOST ALL manufacturers have the SDK for download. I doubt they count on having to answer support questions for this. They probably won't do it. That's why they have developer centers and forums for this.

Oops.

All I've ever had are Motorola and Samsung phones.
