go to Start>Run type in msconfig and check out what being load that relates to that ?

HI 1EYEDJACK,

I have installed some 20 or 30 HP CD-RWR burners, but have never encountered anything about SULAUNCH.EXE. I did a search on google.com as well on the two computers here with HP burners, and I came up empty. It sounds like you may have had some adware program, or even a virus which has been partially removed.

Hungster's comment about looking in MSCONFIG is a good one, but if SULAUNCH.EXE did not succeed, it may not show. You might go to REGEDIT and search the registry for SULAUNCH to see of that gives you a clue.

My guess is that if you use the Windows FIND function, you would find no copy of SULAUNCH.EXE anywhere on your computer.

SULAUNCH.EXE could stand for SetupLaunch for some program that was installed fom your TEMP subdirectory, but somehow the callup was never deleted.

Sorry I don't have more information to share with you.

Good luck.

Jack

one little suggestion, if you install a fresh copy of win2k or winxp, you will find your burning goes much smoother and stable

HI 1EYED JACK

As far as CD-ROM burning programs, I have ued the CD-CREATOR programs, both the ones supplied with the HP Drives, as well as the purchased flavors, and I have used both versions of NERO. I have to say that I like NERO better and it goes faster with fewer coasters.

I welcome cookies that help save me time, so I would not delete all cookies every time I boot up. I do use one of the cookie viewers to go through and delete the ones I don't want, but I like being able to start an on-line order, then wait and finish it in a couple of days with the shopping cart contents retained. Things like these are stored in cookies. I know that some people think at all cookies are bad. They obviously have not tried the soft chocolate chip cookies baked by my Bride of 45 years.

Glad we could help just a bit.

Yes GrandpaCarl is dead right on the Nero

when i first learn about burning cd, i wasted more cd using EZ CD Creator, then i took on trying out tone of burning software, from CDRWIN, Prassi, Disc Juggler, Blindread/write, Clone CD, Nero and so on
After testing out, i decided on Nero and Clone CD

Most of the software i bought, but i never take to renew them, only kept Supporting Nero and Clone CD, CDRWIN gave me bad cd, the cd seems to be perfect...

Nero is not as simple as EZ CD, but once you learn it, you will love and swear by it for a long time, i believe the newer version of Nero has a good wizzard you can follow.
