Hi,

I am a newbie. Anyway I have installed Netware 6 and just successfully upgraded to Support Pack 2. However prior to the upgraded, I was able to "load cdrom" and am able to see the cd-rom mounted as "300803-XXX" in the "File Browser", but since the upgrade, i can do so, even tried "down" the server.

when I "load cdrom" it says

Loading module CDROM.NLM
Auto Loading Module CD9660.NSS
ISO 9660 CD-ROM Support Module Loaded Successfully
Auto Loading Module CDHFS.NSS
MAC HFS CD-ROM Support Module Loaded Successfully

when I typed "volume" I only get

sys
_admin

when I key in "nwconfig", go to "Driver Options|Configure Disk and Storage device drivers" I see:

IDEDATA #01 (currently loaded)
IDEDATA #02 (currently loaded)
IDECD (currently loaded)
IDEHD (currently loaded)

Is there anything I can do to have my cdrom volume back again?!!

Help.

seen that before with sp2 but when you reboot it should load

why sp2?

i would be inclined to go sp3

And when you go to SP3, exect a couple more problems. All workable, but still kinda annoying. faq871-4056

must confess - i always stay away from overlays
never really trust them
once burned on arcserve 5 with this
i've had no probs with 3 admittedly though never had any with 2

Hi People,

Thanks for the thoughts... but

why sp2?
Because that's what I was asked to install, to simulate an issue for a client! :-(

So what do I do next? To reinstall Netware 6 and then upgrade to SP2?

Did you try LOAD CDROM at the console prompt? I had to do that before the CD unit came alive.

According to the knowledgebase the cdrom.nlm was not included in sp3 so you have to copy it on manually from an older cd or from another server!

If you type cdrom on the server it will load the NSS modules. Check your SCSI HBA Drivers, there are a few issues with the SCSI Drivers for SP2, well not really issues, some of them work differently. Try back-reving your driver to SP1.

I presonally wouldn't load SP3 there are about 6 Post SP3 patches, SP2 works 100%!
