I am trying to enable cdr on tty 2, but when I try and enter CDR YES on the RDB it will not save. When I print the route CDR is still set to NO. Any suggestions.

Oh, wait...

You're doing this in LD16 - we'll assume that.

Respond to some other prompts after CDR=YES - the ones that come right after CDR (they will relate to CDR, and may be required - can't remember from my current location)

Great, could these be the prompts:

1. INC – CDR on incoming calls? (YES)
2. LAST – CDR on redirected calls? (YES)
3. QREC – CDR on queue calls? (YES)
4. OAL – CDR on outgoing calls? (YES)
5. AIA – Answered calls identification allowed (YES)
6. OAN – CDR timing starts on answer supervision? (NO)
7. OPD – outpulsed digits? (YES)
8. CDRX – CDR on multiple call transfer (YES)

Yep, but note some (many) CDR software packages can't interpret anything but these.

1. INC – CDR on incoming calls? (YES)
2. LAST – CDR on redirected calls? (YES)

4. OAL – CDR on outgoing calls? (YES)

I will try them tomorrow and see if it then saves the cdr yes setting.

If it doesn't take a look at NTP553-3001-350. It goes through the whole setup for CDR. If you don't have it you candown load it from Nortels site as a guest if you don't have a Nortel login. Also be sure you have the required Pkgs on your switch. I think they are normally included as default.

go to Ld 21 and at REQ enter PRT
at TYPE enter CDR and cr until cdr data is printed. If cdr is not set as yes
go into ld 15 at REQ enter CHG at type enter CDR at CDR prompt enter YES

When you got to LD 16 chg RDB CDR YES

In ld 17 CHG ADAN then cr
at ADAN prompt enter CHG TTY @ cr
cr down to USER enter CTY cr to save

Okay, did all this today. I am now getting characters when calls are released but not clear text numbers. We are using TTY 2 on the Option 11 and have tty 2 setup as 9600 and 8-n-1. Made sure the Hyperterminal session was setup the same. We have a null modem cable plugged into TTY 2 going to comm 1 on the laptop. Not sure why we cant read the text.

If that doesn't work try using Procomm if you can get hold of a copy. Hyper term can be cranky sometimes.

Got it! Thanks so much for all the help. Ended up haveing to disable the tty port after the changes in the baud rate. Using 9600 7-n-1 with no flow control.

Just a heads up if you have OAN set to NO then you're going to also get records for calls going out that were not answered. Don't know if that matters to you are not.
