System has both digital trunks on MG 1000T and analog trunks on MG 1000E cabinets. Using an MRV terminal server how do we make the physical connections for CDR to be picked up on just one PC (using Call Bill) Connection from the system to the MRV and the MRV to the CDR PC. Thanks in advance for help/pointers.

MIKE

Best should be to use BDI CDR instead of serial port through MRV. The CDR application will retrieve CDR through IP connection. If your application is not able to use BDI CDR, create a PTY port with CTY, enable it in LD 15 CDR block. In MRV box create a rlogin connection for port xx. The MRV box will start a rlogin connection to 1000E by using the highest PTY port number.

The problem is that the MRV is not able to connect to overlay level automatically. It will stop in pdt level paswword request. You or the application will need to enter pdt password and then sl1input command to get SL1 overlay on PTY.

I guess a script may be possible to run on MRV starting, but i'm still waiting for someone to give me the steps to do it. Didn't find how to do it in the MRV documentation.

Thanks, the documentation left a lot of little holes for me. Was looking at moveing the COT cards to the 1000T and then use the SDI connection there, would rather do it right.

Couldn't you use the SDI port anyway to collect CDR info without moving any trunks?

On cs1000e there are only the 2 CPU serial ports avaliable and CDR not possible on it. Moving COT to 1000t should be the best!

My understanding is the CS 1000 t sort of functions as it's own system and normally used only for digital trunks. We are just trying to figure a way (simplified) for the CDR port to connect up for Call Bill PC and collect both the analog and digital trunks outgoing call info. Trying to figure the problem out before we get to the physical connection part of the installation.

CS1000T is the same as CS1000S except that Nortel will never gives you any licenses for sets. It nest all IPE boards, PRI, DTI, COT, DECT, SILC, MISP, blablabla....

The SILC and DECT needs to have a clocking system and are not installable in CS1000E

One of our systems we are putting in has 5 BRI trunks and figured we would use the MISP and SILC cards.

MIKE

So put these boards in CS1000T. When configuring the MISP it needs a loop number. In CS1000E it's not possible to install a board as a loop. Maybe for next rls 5.0
