CDR and WIn xp

Hello,

I have two computers that have Winxp Pro installed.
They also have CDR Drives, when I boot up the computers the CDR drive will not eject, but are visible in My computer, and the system saya there are no problems with the Drive.

Has anyone has anything similar, and fixed it.

See if there are any clues here. I assume the manual eject button is working?

Check your Event Viewer and see if there are any errors listed.

You could look at typing MSINFO32 in the Start Run box, and check Components/ Problem Devices. Also check Hardware Resources.

Do you have Roxio installed? The part that will make a CD appear as a drive so you can drag and drop files, I forget which program it is, will also lock the door except thru its little Icon in the System tray. Check there.
