Acccess to the CD rom depends on what type of interface you have. If you are running SCSI and the CDROM is on the same SCSI chain as your hard drive, then just LOAD CDROM at the console prompt; this will mount the CDROM If the CDROM is on it's own SCSI controller, just be sure you are loading the SCSI driver (this should autoload the needed ASPI drivers).
If you use IDE, make sure you are loading the IDEATA.HAM driver (will require port and interupt settings), and the IDECD.CDM. The you LOAD CDROM and this will also mount the CD.
If your really green to NetWare and you just can't get the above to work for you (try the above first); break down to DOS. It is not recomended to leave a server running like this, but it can acomplish what your trying to do. Just load the standard drivers for CDROM and you will be able to access it by it's DOS drive letter from NetWare. Do a search on the net for VIDE-CDD.SYS (works for all CD I have tried it on) and NWCDEX.EXE (DSDOS version of MSCDEX.EXE).
BTW: You don't load GroupWise from the server console, not even the GUI. The GroupWise install is a WIN32 program you run from a workstation. Brent Schmidt CNE, Network +

Why do user go into a panic when a NetWare server goes down, but accept it as normal when a Windows server goes down?
