I am trying to help a friend with CD-RW troubles.

Roxio can burn CD-RW's on the machine, however, Windows does not seem to be recognizing the drive.
1) Windows does not offer it on the Send to menu. I did try to manually add the drive to the menu by creating a shortcut in the Send to folder (documents and settings) When using the shortcut windows says it can't find the drive
2) When pasting files on the drive, a dialog appears "Please insert a disk into drive e:"

I am told that Roxio was not working either, however as I work on the machine it is working and can burn CD's. Don't know what if I did anything to make it work - I did enable hkcmd and igfxtray in msconfig although I don't think that had anything to do with it.

- Thanks a load

Disable it in device mngr, shutdown, Disconnect it, reboot, insure that it is not in the hardware list.

Reconnect it and reboot, win should detect new hardware and reinstall it,

Check that win sees it now??

Have tried these solutions?

The last one helped in allowing me to see the "recording" tab, but still working on trying to get it to write to CD (Depending on what Roxio version you used, will depend on how "easy" you'll be able to fix the issue).
