'replaced my (master) cd-rom drive, but lost my cd-rw writer in the process... how can i pull it back into 'my computer'...?

(tried reinstalling the cd-rw software, but, needless to say, it was a no-go...)

thank you...

yeah, check that one is master and one is slave.

also verify that none of the IDE or power connections are loose.

if that doesn't do the trick then try changing the IDE cable/using a different power connector.

Also, you might want to remove the CDRW and check to see if it has any bent pins. If so, take a pair of pliers and VERY CAREFULLY straighten them so that the ide cable makes full contact with the pin.
