HI !
My 12 year old, who thinks he knows everything about computers, changed some of the parameters on my Dell Dimension T600r running Win 98 SE. Now, my CD-ROM does not auto-start my CD's anymore. Of course, he can't remember what he changed. Any advice out there ?

Thank you !

Start/settings/control panel/system/device manager/cdrom

Select the cd rom, click properties down below, select settings, make sure there is a tick in the Auto inset notifiation box.

Hopefully that is what he changed.

Regards.

Good news, it works !
Thank you very much for the tip... I found out why he tried to play with the settings. One of the CD-ROM games his mother got him did not recongnize de CD-RROM after install. This is the message it gives each time we try to run it;

Microsoft Assertion Failed

Debug Assertion Failed

Program:E:\art attack.exe
File: D\shell\services.cpp LINE:365

For information on how your program cn cause an assertion failure, see the Visual C++ documentation on asserts.

Abandon Retry Ignore

Those this have anything to do with the CD-ROM reader ?

Thx
