CD-R question 1

On the market the are many CD's that have different inscriptions. Can someone tell me the difference between CD-R 2x-52x and CD-R 52x ?

Most manufacturers just list the max speed while others list the range supported. That's the only difference. Either brand can be recorded at slower speeds.
