Hi
I have a lot of older cd disks and some of them don`t play anymore.
I`ve used nero, windows built-in burner and some others over the years. Any suggestions as to how to get these older disk to read.
Hi
I found the answer to my problem in a internet search.
I downloaded IsoBuster and tried it on a few CD`s that
would not read. It opened and found the data.
FYI, writable disks have limited life span and are much susceptable to light damage than "real" cd's.
Oh and the real CD's lasting a lifetime is a lie. I'm finding some of my 20yr old ones are no longer playing and the laquer has discoloured.
Luckily the DVD-Writer was able to rip them for me, otherwise I'd have to go and buy Dire Straits Brothers In Arms all over again ;-)
Most people spend their time on the "urgent" rather than on the "important."
Sympology, I think you got it wrong when you read about the lifetime warranty.
"Lifetime" refers to that of the CD, not your lifetime, because at the time the blank CD is purchased, the manufacturer has no means to know whether you're 9 years old, or 90!;-)
Simply put, when the CD develops errors, it's at the end of its life.
