CD Drive keeps ejecting

Hello~
I am working with a Dell gx240 with w2k loaded on it. As soon as I power it up, the cd tray ejects. If I push the tray in, it will eject 2 -3 seconds later. Any suggestions?

I have not come across a natural reason for this, however i have known people to hack other peoples pcs and do this. I think there is a small utility software that alows people to do this

I had the same problem and found my 2 year old daughter had posted a coin in the drive!

Try the drive in another PC if possible. Look for obvious obstructions as Pete pointed out. Drive might be shot.

Also, try a new data cable.
