CD Burner problems

I'm not sure you can answer this, but

I have a plextor 12/10/32A and Ataptec Easy Cd Creator 4. The problem is, when I burn the disc at once (DAO), right before the burner gets ready to write, the entire computer dies. I can't CTRL+ALT+DEL, or eject the CD (and forcing an eject does nothing). Then I have to reset my computer. What could be going on?

OK, I downloaded the Plextor firmware updates and adaptec's update and all is well. Let this be a lesson to me and everyone else: IF IT's BROKE, LOOK FOR UPDATES!!!
