I have a few questions on CD Burners.

Can all CD Burners take mp3 files and create a CD that can be played from any Cd Player? Or is it that only some CD Burners can do this? Thanks for the help.

All CD burners do is take information and store it on disk. Now this info can be ANYTHING. I think the question you are looking for an answer to is: How do I burn music to a cd so I can listen to it in any CD Player?

This is all dependent on the program you use to burn the CD. I use EZCD by Adaptec just cause it's easy and has wizards. Just pop in your cd, and have EZCD make a music cd for me. I choose the audio files i want, whether it be mp3 or .wav, and EZCD changes the format into CD audio (.cda?), then burns it to the disk. Now if you have one of those new fancy car cd / mp3 players, you can just put plain old mp3 files on a cd (a lot more than 74 minutes) and the player will play them. But these are farily new and still quite expensive.

Just a note on making audio cd's. I have had minimal luck with making a cd that will play at home, in the car, and on the portable player. some players like the burned disk, some don't. I hear that burning at a lower speed will improve the chances that it will work across platforms.

Good Luck!
