Hi All
I have a CCR 7.0.1.31 IP500v2 v7 on a WS2003 SP2 32 Bit giving me major headaches.

The Event viewer shows every 16 minutes, exactly, the message
"CSTA Integration Service failed to initalize"

While it works fine for a while we often get services failing, from Web Client to Historical DB, to Realtime DB, to all.

Have uninstalled and reinstalled CCR but still same.

On same server we have VMpro only 4 port along with SQLExpress 2008.

Anyone ever come across this issue? Banging my head on a wall!!!

Cheers
Dave

i see the same, but just ignore it.. havent got round to reporting it yet!

Excellent, thanks Sean! if I knew what the 16 minutes meant it would lead to the cause...

Hi I have this exact same problem , every 16 mins . Did you find anything and should i be worried about this ? Thanks

no, it's normal. i tried playing around with the settings files but nothing made a difference. plus, if it works, stand back from it.

It is not normal but it does not affect the way it works :-)
I have seen the same thing but coming back every 5 or 10 seconds (cannot remember exactly)

In my case it made it impossible to get a working situation.
I think i forgot to add the firewall exceptions on the server but i am not sure.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

I have the exact same issue as well but never had the warning on the original installation. Not sure why the server is now encountering these warnings

Description: CSTA Integration Service failed to initialize

Does anyone know exactly what the CSTA Integration Service is? It isn't listed under the server's list of services.

Running Windows 2003 Standard Server with VM Pro version 7.x

By the way - my event log registers this every 16 minutes as well!

csta integration is to do with one-x portal communication

Computer-supported telecommunications applications (CSTA) is an abstraction layer for telecommunications applications. It is independent of underlying protocols. It has a telephone device model that enables CTI applications to work with a wide range of telephone devices. Originally developed in 1992, it has continued to be developed and refined over the years. It is often the model that most CTI applications are built on and claim compliance with. It became an OSI standard in July 2000. It is currently being maintained by ECMA International.""

One-X Portal uses it, but it also allows you to develop custom applications that could interact with your CCR data. I don't know of any commercial applications designed for the IP Office CCR however.

I was told by Xima that they will have web APIs from Avaya soon, so no more need for TAPI or CSTA - complete cross platform control of agents, queues and so forth.

Chronicall will also run on Linux shortly and will also be available from your favourate Avaya disti with an Avaya SKU. Nice!

With Avaya and CCR; I will believe it when I see it... :)

in fact when Xima were showing their program too Avaya developers they were a little gob smacked. the only reason why we dont have an avaya badged version of chronicall is because Avaya had already invested too heavily in CCR

The guys that started chonicall were all IPO installers! so they felt our pain, and did something about it!
