Hi everyone.

I was wondering if anyone knows how much of the CCNA exam covers Access Lists? Access Lists can be a sticking point for me anyway. For example if I have a question with an access list defined and given a list of addresses and am asked which ones will be permitted or denied, it may take me about 5 minutes to figure out that one question. Spending that amount of time on one question can be killer.

So anyway, if anyone knows how in depth access lists are covered on the CCNA exam, please clue me in.

Thanks

The CCNA exam I took did not asked that many questions on access list. Just a couple of basic questions like the ranges of the access list numbers (i.e. 0-99 standard, 100-199 extended, and so on) and if you know how to apply the access list, like applying the "ip access group 10" statement to an interface. Ohh and don't forget the ever popular, standard access list close to the destination and extended close to the source.

The CCNA I took did ask a lot of questions about access lists. Not just the numbers for the kinds, but also what
addresses would be block. Or what list would block this address range. The number of questions on certin subjects depends on your luck, when the questions are randomly pick. But if you move onto the CCNP you will want to know those list very well for the advansted routing exam (640-503)and remote access (640-505).
