I had to reconfigure a call centre a few weeks back.

They said that they only had 30 agents, and had 100 licenses, so loads of room for me to work.

However, when I logged into the CCM (R5) there were over 500 agents prrogrammed and each one had the realtime box checked, taking them 400 OVER their licence threshold.

I found out that every extn programmed on the 3300 (R9) had been programmed into the CCM. This was fine via the 3300 sync option on the CCM by a previous engineer.

I instantly turned this off, and deleted 470 entries.

How come the CCM pulled all the phones in as agents and assigned a license to them taking them wellover what they were allowed ?

Yes it will do this, It actually creates an Employee for each extension on the switch, You can change this in the database but you will need to install software to access this.

MiXML Hidden Options

There options are hidden from the customer and require CS intervention to change. These options can be found in the [tblEnterpriseConfig_Enterprise] table in the [CCM] database and will allow for greater customization of the Synchronization tool.

IsEmployeeIDAssociatedWithExtensions

Default: true
Specifies whether new extensions being programmed into the CCM database will be associated to matching employees. Employees will be created if they do not already exist.

using the new yoursite explorer, you can quickly disable the 'real time' for those auto created employees and the sync won't turn it back on again. I leave all CCM's nightly syncing once I get the initial synced database cleaned up.
