Greetz,

When backing up a CatOS configuration to TFTP (CatOS Ver6.2(2)) I am asked whether I would like to backup all default configuration too (copy config tftp all). Is there any point of doing this, as if I need to do a restore of the config at anypoint, whether from scratch or to backout a change, surely the default config will always be on the switch ?

Thanks,
Rob.

You don't need to though I don't think it adds that much to the overall file size . The switch will always have the default config , so copying the config either thru the copy config tftp or write net commands will backup only the parameters that have been changed from the default switch commands .
