I have a 6509 Switch and I was tring to block broadcast for be forwared to a certain port on module 3. I used the command "set port broadcast 3/XX 0.00%" Does this only block outgoing broadcasts? I put a packet analyser on that port and the switch didn't seem to be blocking any broadcasts going out of that port. Does anyone know how to do this? I also was going to try to put an mac address acl on a certain port but all I could see to do was apply it to everything. Thanks for any help

I don't think you can set the threshold to 0.

From Cisco:
Note Although you can specify the broadcast suppression threshold to 0.01 percent, not all modules adjust to that level of precision. Most thresholds vary between 0.01 percent and 0.05 percent. If you specify a finer threshold, the threshold percent adjusts as closely as possible.

If you want to block broadcasts completely why not use a vacl?
