Catalyst 5500 Software

Hello all,

I have a question about Catalyst 5505 software. I'm working on my CCNP and I would like to get a newer version of software for my Catalyst 5505 with Sup III engine w/ NFFC II. Right now it is running version 4.5(2). I would like to update to at least 5.5, but prefereably to the newest software version (6.x something). Where could I do this? Does anyone know of a fairly inexpensive way of doing this? Any suggestions or links to sites would be helpful. Thanks,

If you have a Cisco smartnet, you can download it for free with their CCO account. You don't even have to have the correct smartnet to do this. For example, you could have a smartnet on a cisco 2600, but download the software for a cisco 3500 switch.

How much do these Smartnet contacts cost? Where would I get information on them? Thanks for the quick response.

You can buy them direct from Cisco or through any Cisco reseller. They range in cost depending on which product you buy it for, but they are worth the cost.
