Our Netware server's Sys volume is very low on disk space. The BackupExec\Catalogs directory is almost 6 GB in size. Can I safely delete some or of all this directory?

it will mean that you will have to re-catalog the tapes but it should be ok

Do you have another data volume you can move these files to? Like Smorgan11 said, you can delete them but you'll have to re-catalog them later. If you space elsewhere on the server, you can move them there and configure Veritas with the new path. Hope this helps.

On the same server, I do not have any space to spare on another volume, at this time anyhow. Since when we do need to restore from tape, we usually use tapes that are only a week or two old at the most, I'm thinking if I could just remove some of the older tapes from the catalog, we'd probably never need them anyway. I assume the E01,E02,.. files are the files we are talking about. Thanks.
