cat 2950 HANG

i have installed cat2950 with latest IOS as server farm aggregate switch, on weekend....no problem, it is 48 ports all occupied and most of 48's was SERVERs

on monday the cat2950 HANG stop functioning, seems it can handle all the traffic...

anyone have any similar problem, or anyone can explain why this is happend and what is the cause

So when it hangs, does it just not forward any traffic, or will it not even respond to trying to telnet into the switch? My suggestion would be to telet or console into the 2950 and use the "show proc cpu" command to see if there is too much CPU usage. Also, if you're using this as a aggregate switch for 48 servers, you might try looking for a different switch with a large backplane bandwidth... maybe a Cat 3550. Just an idea. Let me know.

just receive TAC respond, 2950 cannot handle the load ... it was access layer device, u r correct to move on to 3550
