Some cash drawers have a Printer connecter.
So when the printer starts the drawer automatically pops open.
Its tiny cord. See if there is one on the back or bottom of the cash drawer on a similar connector on the back or bottom of the printer.
Then you don't need anything. When the receipt starts printing the drawer will pop open.
I used to work in a company were they sold cash drawers and had to do some coding there as well.
Some drawers open when the 'receipt' printer cuts the paper. Others only open after you send a special character to the printer. It's better to check the manual for the printer (if you don't have it will be available on the internet) and check what character you need to send to open it.
