cascading prompts from universe to crystal reports XI R2

has anyone simulated cascading prompts from a universe to crystal reports in XI R2 whether it is a homegrown solution, BO API calls, datawarehouse techniques, a varied version of APOS from Crystal Enterprise 10 - anything.

I am looking for ideas to throw out to our team. So PLEASE post away!
