Cascade updates/deletes in SQL 2000

Hi,

Is it true that SQL 2000 has cascade updates and deletes? Is this as effective as writing triggers like in SQL 7?

The REFERENCES clauses of the CREATE TABLE and ALTER TABLE statements support ON DELETE and ON UPDATE clauses:
[ ON DELETE { CASCADE | NO ACTION } ]
[ ON UPDATE { CASCADE | NO ACTION } ]
