Capture with in/out points

I'm using Premier 6.0 and would like to capture video from my Sony digital video camera that includes all the in/out points. When I capure using U-Lead software it senses the in/out points automatically and puts in trasitions between them. I would like Premier to do the same. Is this possible?

Premiere 6 doesn't include automatic scene detection. Premiere Pro does, though.

Many Premiere users prefer to use Scenalyzer Live to capture their DV footage via FireWire. Lots of great facilities like scene detection and not too expensive. Highly recommended.

Once you have captured each camera clip into a separate file, then you can use the Automate to Timeline facility from the project window to transfer clips to the timeline with, optionally, a default transition between them - and with cuts to the beat of the music if you set it up as described in the manual/help file.
