Hi

I have tried to install a Cap on my T7316 phone, but when I plug it in it doesn't work. Plus when I went into SystemProgramming to assign my CAP, it wouldn't let me punch in the last number.
I have a T7316E phone, but my system sees it as a M7310 phone, could that be the problem and if so how do I change it so that I can get my CAP/KIM to work??

Thanks

zackly how are you trying to "plug it in"?
do you have a power source?
are you sure of your dn?

Sorry ...was thinking of CAP not Kim....which do you have?
For only one Kim you may not need separate power. When you try to enter a dn and the complete number won't show up it indicates the dn is incorrect.T7316 sets are seen by the system as 7310's.

Almost sounds like the DN range is off. And no power on the KIM until you add your fifth module..

I did plug it into the phone, but the Cap wouldn't light up.

First can you program your KIM with auto dials. If you have no functions on your KIM at all it could be a bad unit. You do not need to assign an extension for CAP assignment. You only need to do this if you wanna program it for line assignment. Auto dials and feature keys will work without it be assigned to a DN.

Acewarlock,

Yup. Should clarify for bliemsgirl

T7316E + KIM + Rls 6.1 software
M7324 + CAP + 24volt power supply + any software above DR1
(DR2 in 6/16 too)

Assignations in software for CAP/KIM postions extra.

I'm sorry I did not complete my note. It does require a T7316E and 6.1 s/w. If you meet these requirements the system will see the T7316E as just that. And that works on both the CICS & MICS 6.1

Bliemsgirl,If the system sees your phone as an M7310 when it is a T7316, you do not have 6.1 software. See Arr's post above, that is the requirement for the 7136 w/ KIM.

the kims need to be assigned to the extension before they can be programmed. its not in the set program, but system, i believe. sorry i cant remember exactly without being in the programming...

I am setting up a CICS 6.1 System to be shared by two (2) companies. I have 6 x 7316E phones and 2 x T24 KIM Modules. Each company is using 3 phones and I want to put a KIM on 1 phone in each company. When I install the KIM units the phones reset and lights flash, but when I login to the IRAD or use a telephone set and go into System Programming, CAP/KIM Assignment, only 1 CAP/KIM shows up. I've tried everything I can, but I can't get more than 1 CAP/KIM to show. I'm new to this, but if they don't show up so they can be assigned a DN I don't understand how I can program the buttons on them. I really need to have this going before Monday so any help would be appreciated.

Thank You !!!
