I am completing a package-course on the web and need to access a particular site which I am registered with.
I can access the login page but when I try to get into the program detail I keep getting thrown back to the login page! I am running IE6.
Luckily,I have an older computer running IE5 and this loads the web page OK, so I can operate from this computer.
Has anyone any idea why this should happen with my main computer running IE6, but not with one running IE6?
The webmaster has replied as follows:-
"I’m sorry to hear that you’ve been experiencing difficulties with the program. We have had several reports of the problem you described, whereby when you click on any of the links on the bottom panel of the Welcome page, you get sent back to the Log In page. It is extremely frustrating for new users who are trying to get started on the program.
Our web programmer has investigated this issue, and was not able to determine for certain why this occurs for some people. However, it seems that most people who report the problem are using Internet Explorer 6 as their browser. Our web programmer has said that because Internet Explorer is so pervasive, there are large numbers of malicious programs in circulation which exploit its vulnerabilities. It may be that users who have this problem with this program have such code running on their browsers."
Any ideas or comments please?Thanks
