What are 10.9.15 and 10.9.101.1 ?

Could be a firewall messing up the TFTP transfer if it's on seperate subnets.

why are you trying to upgrade via the network anyway?

shutdown the SD card, put it in a card reader & do a recreate SD Card from manager

I was trying to upgrade remotely using the network.
10.9.101.1 is the phone system
10.9.101.15 is the voicemail computer

Is this a bad SD card ?

You are a braver man than me
I would not attempt a remote upgrade without an engineer available for disaster recovery except in very extreme circumstances

Best guess is that there's a firewall between the Voicemail Computer and PBX that has TFTP ALG enabled or similar.

Had an issue before (loong time ago) with a customer where phones on a remote site couldn't upgrade through TFTP which was a firewall issue.

I had several issues upgrading remote systems to R10 (from 9.0) and had to recreate the SD card to make it work.
I would suggest to use that method as well and all you need is someone on site that can hold a small philips screwdriver and knows how to take an SD card out of the IPO and put it into a local Laptop / PC with a SD card.

The slow method is create an SD card (doesn't need to be an Avaya card) in your office, post it to the customer with instructions to insert into the system's optional SD card slot. You can then tell the system to upgrade from that card.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

I never tried that but have a few more releases to go up on my home system and will try that on the weekend. Except if I get sidetracked with other stuff out on call interruptions.
