Friends,

I just had to re-install Office XP and since then I can access VBA help by highlighting a term and hitting F1, but when my cursor goes over the search box it turns into a horizontal line with arrows at each end. I tried re-installing the Help component from my CD, no change.

What is the name of the VBA help file and where is it normally stored? I am guessing it's stored among the Microsoft common/shared files, outside the Program Files directory. Since I have several versions of Office on my computer, I was thinking of trying to simply overwrite the file with one that I could find on the XP CD.

This could be a vestige of the Access 2003 runtime db I tested on my machine. It overwrote a number of files that do not seem to have responded to the Remove Software procedure. Version problems, always. Perhaps I should uninstall Office XP and re-install; other suggestions are welcome.

thanks in advance,
p

This probably is not related, but because it sounds familiar, I figured what they hey.

I have a scroll mouse, and if I push down on the scroll wheel, it locks me into a mode much like what you describe. Drove me crazy for a few days since I didn't understand what was happenhing. Pushing down on the wheel fixed the problem.

Any chance it's related to your problem?
