hey guys,

sorry if this has already been answered or asked.

we use the following....

IP500v1 R5.0.26
VMPro 5.0.30
44xx series phones

if we receive a call and want to transfer it to another user that is not using his/her phone, the call goes through without any problems. if that same person is using the phone and we try to transfer a call to them, that call is disconnected if we complete the transfer. this happens for both internal and external calls. I've gone through manager to see if there was something i missed or something i could program. not sure if I'm overlooking the answer, but i can't seem to find it.

anyways, your help is greatly appreciated...

Transfer *33*xxx# ( where xxx is the busy extn number )

Yes, all phones have 3 call appearance buttons.

WOW!!!! That should be fun trying to explain that to a customer. Instead of only having to press 1 button to transfer (with OTT), you need to press several. All us techs know we could get a beat-down for that! That's almost as bad as telling people they have to dial a 9 to call out. :)[pre][/pre]

Is this a bug in R5.0.26? Is that how it works for R6 and above?

You should be able to transfer as normal with 3 CA buttons, unless you have reserve last CA and they have 2 calls on the go already :)

Definitely not a 5.0.26 bug as I have many clients on that release and have never heard of that issue. Is it the same user transferring all calls? Maybe they don't have enough CA's to handle the transfer. I would see if you can isolate the issue a little more.

1) Does it happen to every user when they are on a call or is it a specific user?
2) Can some phones transfer the call while others cannot? Example, reception can't transfer but x101 can transfer calls.
3) Maybe they have call forward on busy set to a bad destination in their user forward tab

*33*N# is only needed when a user is busy.
With 3 CA's and one call the user is not busy, with 2 CA's and a call a user is.
*33*N# puts the caller in a queue while a normal transfer doesn't.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!
