Can't Start SQL Server

What happened was a software company tried to come in and install desktop SQL on a server that already had SQL Server running...the server quit running so I thought I'd have to re-instll SQL Server, so I did...and now I can't log into the server that is listed in Enterprise MGR. Does this make any sense? What other info would be helpful??

I found a fix...had to create new data base and re-point the data...

now to fix all the clients...
