I've scoured the web for the answer...to no avail!
We can't send mail to one domain, the messages back up in queue. Exchange System Manager tells me "The specified network name is no longer available".
We can send to everyone else fine, and receive from this domain ok.
It's strange, at one point restarting SMTP service got a few messages to go through, but they're hanging again and that trick isn't working. We run into this trouble every few weeks, then issue disappears.
SMTPDiag tool tells me that the SOA, local DNS and remote DNS tests pass, no problems. Then I get :
Checking MX servers listed for user@domain.com.
Connecting to mail.domain.com [64.23.234.122] on port 25.
Error: Expected "220". Server is not accepting connections.
Failed to submit mail to mail.domain.com.
We're using root hint servers, I've also tried setting up forwarders to tshoot DNS issues. I've added static DNS into SMTP Virtual Server properties, restarted server mutliple times, restarted DNS service multiple times.
Any suggestions would be great! My hunch is it's on the other server's side, but I'm not totally sure. The admin over there said they haven't 'heard' of other users having trouble sending them mail.
