Hello,

I have been able to send mail outside of our domain for sometime now. Just this week I haven't been able to send any mail outside of our domain.

HELP!!!!

Details Details Details...

Please give us a complete overview of your system and if you have changed anything over the last week.

Has anything changed in the last week? Understatement, we have had exchange to crash. We kind of rebuilt it from what we were able to salvage, however, it's not one hundred percent yet. We are basically using a temporary system pending the old systems being repaired. We are running 5.5, we have about 250 users. I used to access mail from the Web. Since the crash I have set up a pop 3 account and not only can I send out of the domain, I can't seem to set up so that I can access mail straight from the NT server. I think that our information store had a few issues. I am kind of in the dark, but I know that it's a mess right now. When I log into web mail I don't have any mail at all. If I just want to access mail through the web verses pop 3, how should I set it up? The only reason for me setting up the pop 3 account was for me to be able to use the global contact list which I haven't been able to acces since the crash. IT's a mess -- Does any of this make any sense?

The temporary exchange server, does it have the same IP address as the old one?

Do you have port forwarding or such on a router to the exchange server?

So you can send mail internally, but not externally, and you cant receive email from outside?

Port forwarding, hmmmmm, that's a good question, how do I find this out?

Yes, I can receive mail from anyone, I can also send internally, but it's the external thing that's getting me.

Yes the IP address is the same as before.

I think that I am the only person having this issue.

Right, if you are getting mail okay then we can assume port forwaring is not an issue. If you did have an issue the settings would be on your router.

Are you saying you are the only person on the exchange server who is having trouble sending mail outside the company?

Well as far as I know, I am the only person that's complaining right now. Although I have heard that other people are having a few different issues. Remember I am using POP3, is that maybe an issue?

Right, yes.

You definately want to see if it's anyone else having the problem.

You are having trouble using Outlook Web Access away from the network then?

I am not having trouble logging into the web email, however, once I get there I don't have any mail.

What may be the issue?
