We have a little win2k network with one win98 laptop just joined it. All got workgroup "workgroup".
We can see the win98 machine from win2000 but get 'path not found' when trying to click on it. How can that be? Obviously it can see it, right?

The win98 machine can use the LAN for internet connection but it cannot see the win2k machines at all. In fact the yellow torch swings around for a while and then the whole thing locks up.

Got netbios over tcp enabled on win2k.
very interested to get some insights into this. I know there's been many similar posts but I haven't found anything yet that provides an answer for us.

Have you got file sharing installed on 98 machine, and at least one resourece (folder/drive) shared?
Is there an account set up on 2k machine with same user id/password you use to log onto 98 machine?
