When I am trying to run DOS programs in Win 2000 Proffessional the computer locks up. When performing Ctrl-Alt-Del, I get the message that the particular program is frozen. Unfortunately I do need these programs for my work.

Please Help

The computer locks up? You mean nothing else will run?

What programs?
Customised autoexec.nt/config.nt?
Anything in event viewer?
Can you run a command prompt with no problems?

It is a graphics programming application used to program Johnson Controls systems. I just recently got a new laptop and the program locks up when trying to run it. Meaning mouse and keyboard do nothing and the Windows Task Manager tells me the application is frozen
I can run command prompt with no problem
I know the programs runs in W2K because I have used in on other systems
By the way the program runs OK in Safe Mode

safe mode OK = startup service or device not OK
See what else is starting. It might be even an antivirus program, a device driver, or something you really do not need.
