I am missing something here........

I have created a report for retrieving costs based on a BOM for a manufactured assembly. I assign the parameter {? What Part to Produce} to the select expert for the main assy PN#. This will then retrieve all the associated parts in the BOM for the chosen assy PN#. I am using 2 tables, the first is the "job methods" to get the listing of the individual components and second is the "inventory" for the current costs & the tables are linked by "PN#". In details I use just a basic formula to total the last labor & last material $ for each component from the "inventory" table. I also group the components into 2 areas "purchased" & "manufactured" based on inventory type field and sub-total $ to see ratio. I then total these in a footer to get the most current costing entered into inventory for the individual parts. In the original chosen assy PN parameter {? What Part to Make}, there is a field in the "inventory" table giving me the labor to assemble the final assembly. This is where I am having the problem, how do I get the report to retrieve this value ? It seems to want to retrieve the labor value of the last component in details section rather than the chosen assy PN parameter {? What Part to Make}.?

Base question is....How do I retrieve from the "inventory" table, the labor costs associated with the parameter {? What Part to Make} chosen from the "job methods" table ?

Thanks

Sorry typo.....Both parameters should be {?What Part to Produce}

Descriptions are always hard to follow, you would be better served by posting a sample of your data layout along woth the expected outcome.

Well I discovered the answer as to why the {?What part to Produce} parameter would not pick up the "assy" cost.

To get costs for the detail section The link was from the "component part #" to the "inventory part #".

To get the cost of "assembly" for {?What part to Produce}
I had to creat an "alias" inventory table and link it from the assy PN# to the inventory PN# .

Thanks
