cant reset resolution on agfa ss7000

I've recently started using the agfa ss7000, running a dual boot 9/X sys, and I was imaging perfectly till I changed my first roll of media. Now the imagesetter only outputs 1200 res., and after talking to agfa tech suppoirt, I tried their fix, which was to go into my print options change my res setting maually and save. Much to my dismay, I'm still outputting great 1200, but everything at 2400 is severly underexposed. Nor is the exposure uniform, it varies on my test page, from light to dark. My AgfaSet software says im outputting 2400, as does the AgfaViper software, and of course the imagesetter and print preferences all show 2400 res. I'm at a loss wherelse to look, and although I haven't used this system for long, it seems to me alot of my settings have reverted to default. I've also reselected my ppd & edf's on the off chance one was wrong, all to no avail. I'd sure appreciate any comments or suggestions, Carmine
