NT4 SP5
Outlook Express
Proxy Software (analogx) connects to internet, sends smtp mail, no problem
Incoming pop3 mail does NOT authorize
Is there any light someone can shed on filters on the NT box, or ports that I can look at and how?
Thank you in advance
But if you haven't tried the following you might want to:
Can you verify if 110 traffic gets through to your mail server without using the client to eliminate the client as the problem?
If you have telnet open try:
telnet mail.server 110
You have allowed POP traffic to your NT server IP address at the mail server level? Some mail servers have RELAY filters where you need to specify all IPs that will be allowed to receive POP3 traffic. Can other clients on the same network retrieve mail from the mail server? This would eliminate the mail server and network as the problem and would narrow it down to the NT machine.
