Hi,

I have a double problem that totally baffles me. I recently installed Office 2k to a computer that had Office 97.

With Office 2k I cannot open my Excel files. When I open a file I would get this error message in a message box titled "Microsoft Visual Basic".

"An error occurred while loading 'Sheet21131111111111111111211111111'. Do you want to confinue loading the project?"

If I say yes I get a "Program Error" box like this:

"EXCEL.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created."

If I choose No I get a "Microsoft Visual Basic" error:

"Device I/O error"

After a few tries I uninstalled Office 2k and put Office 97 back, when I encounter another problem: I can open the Excel files but cannot save them nor "save as". I keep getting the message: "Document not saved."

Any ideas greatly appreciated. Thanks.

This error is caused by copying the same sheet over and over. For instance, copy sheet 1, then copy the copy, then copy the copy of the copy.

You can check my notes on this at:

If you don't have XP, send it/them my way and I'll get rid of the problems for you and send them back.

Thanks a million! The computer in question is one of my managers'. I will get to it as soon as he goes to lunch to try your suggestion or send you the file.

Thanks again.
