Hi,

I think it most likely that the disks have got damaged. The 1.44Mb floppy disk is easily damaged these days, and if running scandisk or disk doctor over the disk won't get the file back, (or other data recovery software) I don't hold out much hope.
This unreliability is the main reason that floppy disks and drives are fast heading towards oblivion in new PC's, with the USB based flash drives and CD's taking their place as the removable storage medium of choice.

Format a new disk using your computer under XP.

Take the problem disk to another machine not running XP. Copy the files to the hard disk in a temporary folder.

Insert your new diskette and copy the files from the hard disk to the floppy.

Try to read the floppy on your computer.

Thanks guys,
I formated my disk and copied the files from my partners maschine. now it will be good.
