Can't Print While Using VPN

Hello,

I use the Nortel Contivity VPN V04_60.51 (Extranet) to connect to my office.

I have a home LAN using the Netgear FM114P router/print-server. Our shared home printer is connected to the Netgear FM114P router (Great stuff! I love this router).

Problem is, when using the VPN the printer cannot be found (from my machine). As soon as I shut down the VPN the printer is working again.

I had also noticed this problem before we got the router, and used my computer as the hub for the internet connection (and the printer was connected to my computer). When I was using the VPN no one else could access the internet or use the printer (although I could do both).

Now that we use the Netgear router, others can access the internet and use the printer while I use the VPN but I have no access to the printer with the VPN active.

Can anybody think of a solution? I'd sure like to be able to print while I'm using the VPN.

There is a feature in some VPN devices which uses split tunelling. If its available try using it.
Let me know if it helps...
