Can't ping Windows 2000 DC's through VPN appliances

Running VPN appliances (in test environment - crossover cable) with W2K dc's on each side (R-F and child; config'd on shared ethernet segment prior to connecting to vpn appl). The VPN's have "peer subnet" config'd to the opposite subnet.

unable to ping the LAN interface on the vpn appl as well as WAN interface. i'm obviously missing something.... could it be that i need to setup AD sites & services for this to work??? any one else doing w2k across VPN appl's?

any help is appreciated.
 
Hi,

What kind of vpn appliance are you refering to? it is vpn with firewall or just vpn. is it a software based firewall or hardware and software based?

it seens to me there is rounting problem. Can you tell me more about your setup?
