Hi all, I'm really desperate here. It all started when I deleted symantec keys in my registry randomly thinking it would resolve NAV 2004 not wanting to install on my computer.
After that I tweaked services.msc according to blackviper.com withought remembering what I tweaked. I then did a COUPLE of system restore which stuck the nail in the coffin, and so begins my problems.
1. My downloads through opera either winds up corrupt ie CRC errors or if they're completed some of my exe files with a blank window icon says "This application has failed to start because .dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." (PCMark04_120.exe - Unable to Locate Component)
2. On my other .exe files with the blue box and pc icon, I get this messge when I open it "Could not initialize installation. Could not extract Wise0132.dll to C:\Docu~1...\Local Settings\Temp\GLC191.tmp, CRC does not match
3. Thirdly the small intall diaglogue boxes appear a little fuzzy as well as some graphics in Opera.
I also have problems extracting Win32 self extracting files with the following message "Error creating process <C:\Docume~1\Jia\Local Settings\Temp\IXP000.TMP\ie6wzd.exe /S: "D:\installs\IE6\ie6setup.exe">. Reason: INNT\System32\advpack.dll"
When I try to download anything through IE, the above exe problems also arise but the funny this is say I download X.exe through IE and then delete it and I download the same file again but I rename it as Y.exe, IE either begins the download at 40%++ or instantly completeds the download which may suggest IE "remebers" the download.
Clearly the system restore has mucked up something here and I quite annoyed by all this. Any help would be wonderful.
